Mika’s early life was filled with trials and challenges. She spent years confined to a cramped cage, unable to experience the freedom and joy that every dog should. When her owners decided they no longer wanted her, they cruelly left her in a park, completely neglected and frail.
On a seemingly typical day, a woman came across a lonely cardboard box during her walk in the park. Her curiosity led her to open it, revealing a severely undernourished dog huddled inside, too weak to even lift her head. Acting swiftly, the woman contacted animal rescuers, who arrived immediately and were taken aback by Mika’s critical condition.
It was evident that Mika’s prolonged confinement had left her muscle-depleted and emaciated. The rescuers quickly took her to a veterinary clinic, hoping for a chance to save her. At the clinic, veterinarians assessed Mika’s dire situation: she was not only starving and feeble, but also suffering from necrosis in her hind legs.
To save Mika’s life, the team had no choice but to amputate both of her back legs. Fortunately, the surgery was successful, providing her with a new lease on life. In the months that followed, Mika’s healing journey began. With dedicated care, she gradually regained strength, her wounds mended, and she learned to navigate her world once again.
Mika’s courage and resilience inspired everyone around her. So much so that one of her rescuers made the heartfelt decision to adopt her, offering the forever home she so richly deserved. Today, Mika is enveloped in love, relishing each day with newfound joy and freedom. She is finally living the happy life meant for her from the start.
