An Arizona woman was in for a shock when she returned home to find an unexpected guest lounging on her dog’s bed — a wild bobcat.
The unusual encounter occurred earlier this month when the resident discovered the lynx nestled among her dog’s toys in the living room.
Despite the surprise, the homeowner remained calm and quickly contacted the Wildlife Management Authority for help.
It’s believed that the bobcat entered the house through a small, open doggie door, a rare occurrence for the homeowner. Before animal rescuers arrived, she snapped a few photos of the wild visitor.
However, before assistance could reach her, the lynx exited using the same door it had come through.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported for the lynx, the homeowner, or her dog. The incident highlights the possibility of wildlife encounters in residential areas, and experts recommend residents stay safe by avoiding direct interaction and contacting animal rescuers for help.
