Lisa Arturo and Lisa Chiarelli responded to a call from a concerned citizen about a stray dog that people were trying to chase away by throwing rocks. Determined to help, they went to the location on Memorial Day weekend.
The rescuers had a plan and waited in front of the house for about 20 to 30 minutes before driving around the neighborhood and searching nearby alleys.

Despite spending about five hours looking, they couldn’t find the dog. Before leaving, they asked the caller to leave a blanket on the front porch.

The next day, they received a text saying the dog had returned and was lying on the blanket. The rescuers went back to the house with a special cage.
They were heartbroken to see the dog covered in wrinkles and scabs, with a sunken face and almost invisible eyes. It was hard to determine his age.

They gently placed a leash around his head and fed him chicken pieces. Once the dog was in the cage, they lifted him into their van and took him to the vet. He received a good bath and treatment for his eye and skin infections there.
After the bath, the dog felt much better, and his skin began to improve. He enjoyed the attention and started wagging his tail. Soon, he transformed into a handsome dog, with his hair growing back and infections healing.
When Amy and Kieran saw the dog, they knew he was the perfect addition to their family. They adopted him, and he quickly fit in. Amy’s female Rottweiler got along well with the new arrival.

The once-stray dog soon emerged from his shell and embraced his new life. He loved chasing things and playing with his new dog sibling, and despite being an adult, he always had a playful, puppy-like demeanor.
