Despite her delicate nature, her resilience shone through even as she bore the wounds of past traumas, including an arrow injury discovered by the KWS/SWT Mara Mobile Vet Unit.

Throughout her time at the Nursery, Ziwadi’s journey was marked by challenges, including temporary blindness and seizures, yet she persevered, showing signs of both physical and emotional healing.

Her endearing quirks, like her love for greens and distinct swagger, endeared her to caretakers and fellow elephants.

Ziwadi charted her path unlike typical elephants, often wandering off to find the best grazing spots and establishing her unique routines.

Despite her reluctance to take on a maternal role, she became known as the ‘kind auntie’ of the herd, cherished for her gentle presence and independent spirit.

As months passed, Ziwadi’s progress brought hope and joy, with over six months passing since her last seizure.

Though her time with us was brief, she leaves a legacy of love and inspiration that will forever be cherished.
