A heartbreaking situation unfolded when a dog named Luna was found in dire straits. Luna, a mother of six newborn puppies, had been trying to find food after giving birth.
Tragically, she ingested poisoned food that had been hidden under the vehicle where she had given birth, leaving her trapped and in critical condition.
It was a young boy who first noticed Luna’s distress. Once the person suspected of leaving the tainted food had left, he quickly contacted the Prishtina Dog Shelter for help.
The shelter’s team arrived promptly, finding Luna struggling to breathe but still attempting to protect her puppies. A volunteer veterinarian administered emergency injections to stabilize her condition.
Despite her perilous situation, Luna displayed a friendly disposition, suggesting she wasn’t a stray but rather an abandoned pet.
Luna’s maternal instincts were evident when she allowed two unrelated puppies, Nikita and another orphan rescued the day before Luna, to nurse alongside her own pups. Her nurturing spirit highlighted what a remarkable mother she was.
In a heartwarming turn of events, Luna and her puppies were adopted just 10 days after arriving at the shelter. They found a loving forever home with a family in Los Angeles, providing the care and warmth Luna truly deserved.
