Early this morning, we encountered a dog lying on the side of the road, softly whimpering. His long, unkempt fur covered his face, but there was no mistaking the desperation in his eyes as he gazed at us.

The dog was curled up in a corner next to a pillar, surrounded by bits of food likely left by passersby. Sadly, he couldn’t move, and his back legs were visibly hurt. The air was filled with an unpleasant odor as flies buzzed around persistently.

We tried to clear some of the debris around him and shoo away the flies, but it was evident that his situation was desperate.

Witnessing his suffering was truly heart-wrenching, especially as he continued his soft cries, almost as if he was begging not to be left behind.

I offered him some food, which he eagerly devoured despite his continued whimpering. It was shocking to see how thin he was; he couldn’t have weighed more than a kilogram.

We realized that he needed immediate medical care if he was to make it through the next few days.

We lined the back of the car with newspaper to make it more comfortable for him, and with the help of two compassionate girls, we cleaned and comforted the poor dog.

Together, we hurried him to the veterinary hospital, where he received the critical care he so desperately needed. Due to his weakened state, the veterinarians were unable to conduct tests immediately.

They advised that he should be hospitalized for at least a week for intensive monitoring and care before any further assessments could be made to understand his condition fully.

As we left, making sure to assure him with our promise to return and offer encouragement, we were committed to letting him know that he was not alone.

The rescue team was dedicated to standing by him through his recovery, facing any challenges to ensure he had a chance for healing and happiness.
