While driving back to the countryside, we came across a tiny puppy perilously close to a bustling road. His small frame moved uncertainly, and seeing the nearby traffic, we knew we had to act fast.
Driven by concern for his well-being, we decided to rescue him. Despite his fear, the little puppy, whom we now call Pingan, followed our lead obediently, sparking hope that he was on his way to recovery.

Once we safely reached home, it became evident that Pingan had been fending for himself for a while. His fur was dirty and tangled, indicating he had been wandering alone.
We gently cleaned and combed his fur, striving to make him comfortable. He appeared both sleepy and hungry, so we offered him what little food we had and carefully checked for any signs of injury or illness.
Although wary, Pingan seemed to appreciate our care.
Though he found solace in our presence, Pingan was easily startled by the sounds of other dogs or sudden movements, a testament to his tough journey.
He often retreated to a corner, curling up into a ball, visibly frightened and lonely. Initially refusing a bottle of milk powder, his uncertainty prompted us to try a different approach by offering a bowl of food, which he began to eat hesitantly.
His initial reluctance underscored the need for patience and care to help him feel secure and healthy.
Our immediate plan involves setting up a safe, cozy area for Pingan to recuperate. Tomorrow, we’ll quarantine him in a quiet space to help him recover from the stress he’s endured.
As his fear subsided, we noticed Pingan’s playful spirit beginning to emerge. He showed increasing trust, his tail wagging enthusiastically, as if choosing us as his new family.
During our time with Pingan, we discovered that he is missing a leg, which will demand special care and attention. Despite this, our resolve to support him only grew stronger.
We understand that his healing process will be long and filled with challenges, but we are wholeheartedly committed to aiding his journey to regain confidence and health.
In the short time Pingan has been with us, he has already made a profound impact on our lives. His quiet bravery in the face of hardship and his longing for companionship highlight the power of kindness and empathy.
We remain hopeful that with time, love, and patience, Pingan will not only heal physically and emotionally but also become a treasured member of our family.
His new chapter has just begun, and we are dedicated to supporting him every step of the way.
